2009 - 4 'diameter, 14' tall, 8000 plastic beads, wire, string, wood, one electric motor. Neko's Nebula was my first experiment with a wave traveling in a Yin Yang pattern, as well as my first try at a hollow multi-tiered structure. The advantage of twisting a wave in such a manner is that each edge of the sculpture exhibits a different sine wave. The hollow structure suggests apparent movement between the top and bottom tier, even thought they are in fact parallel. |
