The Green Stripe returns in 2019 to take a trip around the world. This is my second stop motion venture. I used precision jigs to shape the caterpillar at each step, and took 4320 unique photos which are being shown here at 24 frames per second. Because the caterpillar would have fallen off the bottom of the world I took all the photos while it was on the top and rotated the light using a custom indexing fixture. When I was done I shuffled and rotated the photos into the final sequence. In order to solve the nonlinear equations needed to make the caterpillar jigs, and also rotate the photos, I learned to code in Python. Thanks to Dan Torop for guiding me in that endeavor. Thanks to Chris Potter for lighting and video help. Music by Lloyd Rogers.
